So, if you stumbled onto my little blog here because you are into Marketing, you probably know who Seth Godin is. If you saw this on my Facebook and we used to drink beer together, it's questionable. Basically, he's a new-age marketing, fancy-pants who makes up new terms (like "Purple Cow") and everyone else starts to use them.
Well, now he is launching a new experiment on his blog. Basically, if you pre-order his book, Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us , and let them know about it, you'll gain entry into what seems like an exclusive social networking site. Also, Seth hints at potentially sending out some sort of bonus item as well, if you give a real address.
While this may seem like a way to sell more books, I have a sneaking suspicion that we are going to be test rats in a cage, after all, the pre-orders are 40% off on Amazon, and if you read Seth's blog there's a good bet you'd end up with his book. Either way, I don't care - I'm in.
